Lisa Tolnai – Artist

I have been an artist all my life but in the past few years of have dedicated more of

my time to art. Growing up, I was lucky to have artistic family members - I was

always surrounded by art. I have a full-time, non-art-related job, but I try to make

art a part of my everyday life. Creating gives me a sense of fulfillment and I love

when others connect with what I have created.

My “Cats on Classic Chairs” Series came out of my desire to have a cat again. After

I started painting the Cats on Chairs series, I convinced my husband to adopt a cat.

One cat led to another, then another…we now have 3 cats and I have plenty of

inspiration. My favorite furniture pieces come from Charles & Ray Eames, George

Nakashima, Finn Juhl, and the list goes on. Besides cats (and furniture), I also draw my inspiration from nature, everyday life, and the music I love to listen to.
